HOW MUCH DOES NERSS CHARGE FOR STATIONARY OR MOBILE PATROLS ?

DO YOU NEED YOUR FIRST AID AND C.P.R. TO BECOME A SECURITY GUARD?

Yes, you must have a current First Aid and C.P.R. certificate before you become a security guard in the province of Ontario.

WHAT IS THE LEGAL AGE TO BECOME A SECURITY GUARD OR PRIVATE INVESTIGATOR IN ONTARIO?

You must be 18 years of age to become a licensed security guard of private investigator in the province of Ontario.

WHAT DOES THE SECURITY GUARD TESTING COMPRISE OF?

There are separate basic tests for security guards and private investigators.

Tests consist of 60 multiple-choice questions based on topics covered in basic training courses. You will have 75 minutes to complete each test.

Please note that in order to register for a test, you will need a training completion number from your basic training course provider.

WHERE DO YOU TAKE THE SECURITY GUARD TEST?

Tests are offered online and at selected Drive Clean Test centres across Ontario. Check the ServiceOntario website for further information.
